Quickly and easily free up that valuable floor space with the smartly designed Sternmaster Lightweight Outboard Motor Wall Storage Brackets featuring carbon steel construction and a customizable load capacity*. They are designed to fit a 2" x 8" board (not included). Each bracket has three mounting holes in the back for easy installation, and two holes on the front panel to bolt in the board so that it holds firm as you use it. The brackets are made from a 14 gauge steel with a wrinkle black powder coat finish.
*Note: Load capacity is up to your discretion and should be based upon board length, type of wood, and wall strength. This product is intended for clamp-on outboards only.
The 165 fills a need for a residential / light commercial outboard wall storage bracket, and is a lightweight version of the ME-160 (which is meant for heavy duty industrial applications).

I just wish they made additional brackets to mount between these (end) brackets so you could create a 16 ft. or longer storage rack.

This item is exactly what I needed. We had kept our outboard motor on a saw horse in a small garage. I started to reorganize the garage to open up space for a car. This bracket filled the bill! I used left over 1 x 8 planks (doubled up) for the support. NB: the package does not include bolts for the wall - I used lag screws.

I have a trolling motor and a Mercury outboard mounted on it. I used 3/4 plywood doubled up (gorilla glued) vs. a 2 by 8, it is rock solid.

A great product much BEEFIER than they look here. Being able to install them, with a 36 inch span, we have a compact storage area for both motors instead of the space taking individual stands. The garage looks so much cleaner and I have more space without the stands in my way. At first I thought $60.00 was to much for a pair of brackets, but when you see them, you'll see these are quality. I also like the way the 2 x 8 will JUST go in with a little tapping. There isn't any slack or wobbling and it was debatable if the bolts were even needed. Thanks for another superior American Product.
What is the difference between the ME-160 and ME-165?
The ME-160 is very overbuilt, but some customers prefer that so we continue to offer it online. We recommend the ME-165 because it is just as sturdy at much less cost.
Can I get the ME-165 in a different color?
Yes, but there will be a longer lead time and most likely an extra charge.
- We stock the ME-165 in black as pictured.
- We can substitute red powder coat at no extra charge, but with a longer lead-time.
- Any other color will require an extra charge and longer lead time. Please contact us with your desired color for quotes
